George worked most of his career at International Paper in Jay until his retirement. His greatest passions were his woodworking shop, remodeling of the farmhouse, as well as his multiple flower beds. In his free time, he also enjoyed fishing, traveling, and spending time with his family.

George was predeceased by his parents Edwin and Gertrude, siblings Wilbur, Elizabeth “Betty”, and Donna Littlefield, and his wife Carol. He is survived by his son, Russ Littlefield and daughter-in-law Dana Lundell; his daughter, Diane Anderson and son-in-law Mark; his beloved granddaughters, Carolyn Anderson and her partner Bryer Gallagher, Andi Anderson and her partner Dylan Brooks; and several nieces and nephews.
