Obituary for Mildred E. Sullivan

MILDRED EMMA SULLIVAN, 86, passed away April 26, 2019 at Marshall Healthcare. She was born August 3, 1932 in Perry, Maine to the late Alton and Ruth Sullivan. She graduated from Shead High School, Class of 1950. After graduating, Mildred began what would be a long dedicated career in the insurance business where she worked for 50 years before retiring in Machias.

Mildred became a member of the Whitneyville Congregational Church and was active in her community. She enjoyed spending her time volunteering at the hospital's coffee shop, public suppers and always could be counted on lending a helping hand to all her family, friends and neighbors. She will be remembered to her friends as the walker of Machias averaging three miles a day until the last two years of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Daniel and wife Ella of Eastport; her sister Hilda, husband Charles Kendall and daughter Kay of Seattle, WA; two very special nephews, Wayne David of Baileyville and Edward Alton of Machias.

She is survived by her sister, Shirley St. Pierre of Machias, niece Diane St. Pierre of Calais and children Nicole and Aaron; Janet St. Pierre of Machias and children Jeremy, Renee, Dusty and families; Ted and Okkie St. Pierre; son Eddie and a very special niece, Monique of Bangor who has helped with her care for the last two years.

The family wants to thank her many friends at Louis Gardner and the wonderful care she received at Marshall Healthcare from all the staff. A special thanks to Aaron Vose, Becky C. and Barbara Morrison.

At Mildred's request, there will be no service at this time. She will be buried with family in Perry at Leland Cemetery at a later date.
