In Loving Memory
Kathy Bryant
12/28/1955 - 2/3/2010

Kathy Bryant, 54, went to be with the Lord on February 3, 2010, with her family by her side in Belfast.   Kathy was an incredible person who dedicated her life to helping others.  Kathy has been a leader in the community from teaching Sunday school, taking care of families that needed assistance and being a friend to seniors throughout the community.   Kathy saw a need in Waldo County for someone to help families who needed help providing Christmas presents to their children.  As a result, she created an organization called Wings of Love.  Her mission was to ensure all children and families in Waldo County who needed assistance would receive it.  Over the years the program has expanded to also provide support to senior citizens as well as school supplies and clothes for children at the beginning of the school year.  Along this journey, Kathy found ways to inspire others by motivating them to become involved in helping others.  In 2006, Kathy was recognized for her work with Wings of Love and the community as a recipient of the 2 Those Who Care Award by WLBZ Channel 2 in Bangor.  Kathy touched the lives of so many people and will always be loved.  The memory of Kathy and all that she has accomplished will become a treasure to everyone who knew her.

She was predeceased by her parents, Clyde Bailey and Shirley Bailey.  Kathy was a beloved wife to John Bryant with whom she shared 35 years of marriage; and loving mother to two children, Jennifer Hahn and her husband Daniel of Bear, DE, and John Bryant and his fiancée Tammy Benecke; two granddaughters, Alexis and Isabelle; three sisters, Jean Verzoni, Diana Corey and Vicki Woods; and a brother Clyde Bailey.

Friends are invited to call on Sunday, February 7th from 2-4 p.m. at Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home where funeral services will be held Monday, February 8th at 2 p.m. with Rev. Richard Reynolds officiating.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wings of Love program to further the work that Kathy has inspired at: Wings of Love, PO Box 529, Belfast, ME 04915.  On-line condolences may be placed at www.crabielripostafuneralhome.com

John, Jennifer and John Kathy has been part of my life for over 12 years on Saturday morming at the gym. We, who work out, on that day have been richly blessed by her over the years. We have been with her throughout her battle with cancer praying it would go away. We will miss her dearly and as for me, I have truly lost a loving sister. She at peace and pain free and now has her own wings and many to care for in heaven. May her passion for her Wings of Love program endure forever and her warmth be upon us all who are left behind.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and especially to John, John Jr. and Jennifer during these difficult times. Kathy was liked by all at the fitness center and had a devout group of friends here. She brightened the day of all who entered the gym, greeting everyone with a smile and encouragement even when she was fighting her own inner ills. An irreplaceable spirit, an abundance of enthusiasm and optimism, a desire to help the disadvantaged and close loving family ties were hallmarks of Kathy's life on this earth. She will be greatly missed but her spirit will never be forgotten. Ed Flanders Bay Area Fitness

I met Kathy at Bay Area Fitness and just fell in love with her genuine warmth. She told us of her organization which is a testament to her love of people and her desire to better our community. It saddens me greatly to know that her lovely personality and the strength of her humanity is gone. What a blessing she has been and what a legacy she leaves. Sincerely Rhonda Hutchins

John, Jennifer and John Jr. I was saddened to read of the loss of your wife and mother. Mom recently told me of her battle with cancer, which I was saddened to hear about as well. Kathy was a wonderful woman, I have very fond memories of her as my Sunday School teacher and of her work as an AWANA leader. I still have my plaque that I received from her for memorizing verses in Sunday School. My thoughts and prayers go out to you, and I am rejoicing with you that she is in Heaven with our Heavenly Father. In Christ's love.
