Constance Cook Colby
6/8/1952 - 7/31/2012





CONSTANCE E. (COOK) COLBY, 60 of Swanville, passed away July 31, 2012 at Waldo County General Hospital in Belfast.  She was born June 8, 1952 in Thorndike, the daughter of Melvin and Caroline B. Cook.  Connie worked many years at Ames.  She also worked at the shoe factory, MBNA, Bayview and many other places.  Connie enjoyed knitting and spending time with her family. 

 She was predeceased by her father, Melvin P. Cook and daughter,  Candy Furbush; her in-laws, Russell Sr. and Violet Colby.  Connie is survived by her husband of 26 years, Donald L. Colby; beloved children, Kelly and Philip Walsh of Knox, Jarrod and Dawn Cook of Lincolnville; step-children, Michael Colby of Swanville, Sherry Colby of Belfast; her mother Caroline Cook of Swanville; her siblings, Melvin and Allison Cook of VA, Steve, Regina Pelletier of Gardiner, Preston Cook of Waterville, Maryann Everett of Florida, Terry and Tammy Cook of Swanville, Linda Cook of Belfast and Patrick and Jennifer Cook of Swanville; her in-laws, Marie and Bob Knowlton of Belfast, Norman and Beulah Colby of Swanville, Russell Jr. and Millie Colby of Belfast, Stanley and Esther Colby of Swanville; her grandchildren, Matthew, Kelsie, Katylin, Shay, Ashleigh, Candy, Jasmine, Tyler, Dylan, Tiara; several nieces and nephews.


A memorial celebration will be held Sunday, August 5, 2012 from 2-4 p.m. at the VFW Hall, Field Street, Belfast.  A very special thank you to the Oncology Department at Waldo County Hospital.  Arrangements under the care of Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast.  On-line condolences may be offered at www.ripostafh.com
